As urbanisation trends continue, subsistence farming will play less of a role in the provision of food. It is important that urban areas have the infrastructure in place to ensure that all income groups can access healthy, nutritious food at a price they can afford. Infrastructure also has a role to play in minimising food waste and loss, so that farmers can sell as much of their produce as possible.
